If the desk height shown on the control panel does not match the actual height, or if the desk height has changed after disassembly and reassembly, you also need to perform a reset. Otherwise, you can use the factory preset settings directly.

Resetting a standing desk, using Boulies MagVida as an example:

  • Remove any items from under the desk. The desk will drop to its lowest height.
  • Press and hold the "▼" button.
  • The display will show "RST" and the desk will begin to move down to its lowest position if it is not already in the lowest position. (If the desk does not begin to move after pressing the down button, continue to hold it for 15 seconds, then release it and repeat this step.)
  • Do not release the button until the desk reaches its lowest position and begins to rise 0.5 cm. (If the desk does not move, try this step again.)

Try to operate the desk. If the desk is working properly, you are done! If the problem persists, continue with the following steps:

  • First, unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
  • Then press and hold the "▼" button for 10 seconds to discharge the residual power stored in the control box.
  • Finally, plug the standing desk back into power and follow the steps to reset the desk again.

Try operating the desk again. If the desk works properly, you are done! The sit/stand desk is reset. If the problem persists, proceed to the next section.

Avoid Frequent Standing Desk Resets

Resetting is an effective way to restore desk functionality, but frequent resetting can also cause problems, especially wear and tear on components. Follow these tips to reduce the likelihood of needing a reset:

  • Weight limit: Try not to overload your desk. Boulies MagVida has a 120kg capacity.
  • Pause when adjusting: During continuous height changes, try to let the motor continue after each cycle pause.
  • Keep area: Clear all obstructions.
  • Routine maintenance: Clean the legs regularly, check the screws, and inspect all components.
Standing Desk Error Codes E01

Standing Desk Error Codes

E01

Abnormal Voltage Detected

During the operation of the lifting desk, abnormal voltage was detected (voltage: <23V or >40V), detection and recovery steps:

Step 1: Check if all cables are properly connected to the control box. Is the desk powered normally?

Step 2: Check if there are any obstacles that prevent the desk from moving. Remember not to move anything too close above, below or next to the desk.

Step 3: Does the desk move slightly and then reverse direction? Reverse movement is an important point of the desk anti-collision safety system:

  • Check if the control box is not fixed. If not, any other wires directly below the control box are likely to trigger the anti-collision system.
  • Detect if there are tight wires. If the wires are tight, the anti-collision system is likely to be triggered.

Step 4: Check if all wires are properly installed and press the connections firmly.

Step 5: Please disconnect the power supply of the lifting desk for at least 10 seconds and reconnect it. If the control panel still displays the error code, the power supply box needs to be replaced.

Hot

Detects system overheating and enters automatic protection mode

Recovery steps:

  • When the error code "Hot" appears, the standing desk control system will automatically exit protection mode after 18 minutes.
  • You can disconnect the power supply of the lifting desk for at least 10 seconds and then reconnect it.

E18

The motor is overloaded, and the items on the desk are too heavy. Just reduce the weight.

E05

There is an obstacle during operation. Do not move any objects too close to the top, bottom, or side of the desk. Clear the obstacle.

E16

Internal motor failure. The transmission mechanism inside the motor may be stuck. The motor needs to be disassembled for inspection and repair. If it cannot be repaired, the motor needs to be replaced.

E22

During the operation of the lifting desk, the voltage of the power box is lower than 17V. Repeat the E01 detection step.

The Lifting Height of the Standing Desk Is Stable and Level

The Lifting Height of the Standing Desk Is Stable and Level

We are proud to design MagVida, which uses high-quality dual motors and a full steel frame on the market, which is durable and has excellent performance. Boulies MagVida standing desk adopts a three-column structure and can be adjusted to your ideal height.

However, if the desk is not assembled properly, the instability of the standing desk may occur. If your standing desk feels unstable, please follow the steps below to tighten all screws:

Screws are most likely to loosen over time. When your standing desk is unstable when lifting at height, it is usually these screws.

  1. Tighten the screws that secure the feet.
  2. Tighten the screws that secure the side brackets to the ends of the crossbars. These screws are located on the left and right sides of the desk frame, just below the desktop.
  3. Tighten the screws used to secure the desktop to the desk frame. An unstable desktop will also affect the lifting.
  4. Make sure the desk is level.
